{Darkest Hour Storyline Summary}
{OOC note in advance: if your character didn’t get included in the ‘zoom-in’ part of this summary, it isn’t because we forgot to include you! Please feel free to let us know about your storyline ideas if you have any and we’ll gladly include them. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to send us an ask!}
Times are chaotic, teams are shady and it’s unclear who’s friend or foe. Osborn and his Dark Avengers are one big step ahead of the good guys, especially since he’s managed to win over public media with precisely timed flamboyant performances of his Avengers. This has forced the heroes to go undercover, operate underground and try to haul over as many of their teammates as possible before they find themselves trapped in Osborn’s snares.
A little zoom-in on the current situation:
- Frank Castle attempts an assault on Osborn’s life, but is stopped before he gets the chance to do so and ends up in jail.
- Meanwhile, Lady Bullseye attempts to put Daredevil off Osborn’s path by providing the parents of his mentally ill wife with legal help in order for them to gain custody of her.
- After SHIELD was disbanded by Osborn, Maria Hill was left unemployed. However, she will prove to be a valuable asset to Osborn in the future, and for that reason he’s sent Bullseye to persuade her.
- When Matt Murdock takes over leadership of The Hand, it appears Gambit and his Guilds feel their territory is being threatened. This results in a battle between The Hand and the Guilds.
- Since our heroes have been forced to go underground, Wolverine takes charge of putting together an undercover team much like the X-Force, with help of Domino. They manage to haul over Johnny Blaze, Kitty and attempt to convince Bobbi, Jubilee, Rogue and X-23.
- Emma Frost has called for her pupil Hellion to join her Dark X-Men team, and he’s done so without protest. This puts X-23 in a difficult situation, however, since she now has to choose between Logan and Julian.
- Jubilee is initially on the Dark X-Men team, but with the presence of Xarus on that same team it’s becoming increasingly uncomfortable for her. When Logan forms a team and informs her about that, she eventually switches to his team.
- Rogue joins the Dark X-Men because Emma’s managed to employ Remy there and to keep an eye on Jubilee, but when Jubilee switches teams, Rogue does too.
- Mystique has yet to pick a team, and it appears she’s got interested parties on both teams. Between Daken and Wolverine, which side will she pick?
- Emma Frost is at Osborn’s side as his advisor, whispering sweet little poisonous nothings into his ear. Meanwhile, Xarus plots to slowly overtake power. Having Emma at his side will surely help him with this, but he’s got Osborn /and/ Namor to compete with.
- It appears Bobbi Morse and Clint Barton have some unfinished business to settle between the two of them. Will they join the battle, or make one of their own?
- Whoops! Where did all these Hawkeyes come from? While Lester took Clint’s title and flaunted it in all the wrong ways, Barney stepped in to knock him off his pedestal. And then there’s young Kate, who’s still trying to make a name for herself. Who’ll take the title?
